Mom 2.o may have just ended, but I still want you to learn more about it so you can make plans to attend in 2011.
Below is an email interview I conducted with Marla Treviño, organizer of Mom 2.0 Summit in order to share more insight into the conference with you:
1. What makes this conference unique?
At the Mom 2.0 Summit we get down to business – it really is a place for moms and marketers to meet, and discuss intelligently. The most inspiring women aren’t just confined to the stage, but floating amongst the booths, activities and parties. We have a lot of fun, but we really focus on bringing the conversations that matter.
We also just love the location – this was our second year and it’s been in Houston both times at the Four Seasons. April 2011 will bring us to New Orleans, but for 2010 where else can you get weather in February with highs in the mid 60s, lows in the mid 40s and sunny with zero chance of snow and the usual 100% chance of fantastic Tex-Mex?
2. What are some of the highlights or features of this conference?
Our conference is set up like an Oprah talk show – it’s very conversational, and PowerPoints are only included when you need to get a visual point across. This setting lends itself to an intimate gathering of leaders and novices. Our speaker lineup is spectacular.
3. Does this conference have different learning tracks or focuses?
The Mom 2.010 Content Paths:
- The Professional Path:
Each panel discussion in this path will revolve around hot topics, growth trends, and new ideas to enhance your network, your brand, and your professional online presence. - The Product Path:
Each gathering in this path will focus on your online product. We’ll discuss new ways to further develop and enhance your site’s platform, functionality, structure, and optimization. - The Personal Path:
This path will cover a variety of ways to develop your personal passions and to enhance your work as a content creator, a documentarian, a mother, and a community leader.
4. If you could share your top 3 tips for conference newbies, what would they be?
Be prepared to have fun with the coolest, smartest women on the planet. Ask questions, and don’t be shy, you never know who you are sitting next to. Pace yourself, although at the Four Seasons it’s easy to relax and be pampered.
5. How can people find out more information about your conference or contact you for questions?

Whether you’re a mom, a brand trying to connect with moms, or are just passionate about the online world, Mom 2.0 Summit is the conference for you. With a laid back atmosphere, good climate, and tons of information to absorb, this conference is sure to be just as fun next year!
