140 Character Conferences (get the reference to Twitter?) have become well-known for their ability to explore how real-time Internet impacts business and life in a non-conference format. The fast-paced events (10-20 minute sessions) offers attendees tons of information, discussions, and tweet-able gems to share with others.
Jeff Pulver, who conceived the concept and hosted the first event in 2009, added a new facet to the event line-up this year:
#140 Local Events
Essentially, this means that you can curate your own #140Conf event in your hometown. If you’ve attended at least one #140Conf event before, you can submit to host one here. (Speakers are also being rounded up for those events as well as non-local ones – speaker details here).
More and more #140Conf local events are being announced (by the day sometimes!) and Blog Conference Newbie Guide is adding them the to 2011 Blog Conference & Social Media Event List as details become available.
Recent #140Conf local additions are:
- #Fashion140 Conference – May 4th
- #140Conf Des Moines – May 9th
- #140Conf Central Sierra – May 24th
In addition, the following events are on the #140Conf roster for 2011:
- Fashion140 Conference – May 4th
- #140Conf NYC – June 15-16th
- BrandConf – Fall 2011 (details not released yet)
Will a #140Conf event be headed to your neighborhood in 2011? Only time will tell!
Sound Off:
Have you been to a #140Conf event or do you hope to attend one in 2011?
